Creating Facebook Custom Audiences Using Your Email List

Here’s a great way to turbo-charge your marketing. Why not upload your existing email database into Facebook and create a custom audience? Okay, in this short video, I’m going to show you something that I find really cool thing to do if you’ve got an email list of your own. One thing you can do if you don’t have a big email list and really it doesn’t matter how big your email list is anyway with this, but if you also have a LinkedIn profile, I’ll do another video how you can actually download all the email from you LinkedIn account and then upload those as a csv files. So what we’re going to do here is we’re going to create a customer audience, a website customer audience using Facebook, where we are going to upload an email list. This could be a prospect email list, whatever it is please make sure it’s not scrap from anywhere, many of these tools which will get you banned. It’s a list that you have either opted into your email list or you’ve got permission to market it otherwise you can land yourself in some very deep water.

So we are in the Facebook ads manager now, all we want to do is we want to go to audiences and we want to create an audiences and we want to create a custom audience. Now we’ve got … basically we’ve got options here of what we want to do, we want to create a customer audience using our emails. So we want to upload the file now, let’s upload the file, I’ve got hopefully saved my desktop here somewhere, custom audience and create audience. What turns out is a custom audience you see here it is thirty minutes for this to actually show up in your account. So I’m going to pause the video now and get back to you in a few minutes once the audience is uploaded.

Okay, we can see now that the custom audience is here, created a task customer audience with a size of about 600 people. Now the least he least was about 1000 people and what you tend to find on Facebook customer audience is it won’t create 100%, it would take the emails you’ve got and try and compare them to the emails people use in Facebook. So if it’s a recent list you should be getting 60-70% something like that, if it’s an old list, might be last month may be 30-40-50% something like that but we can use that as an … the importance of this is, if someone is on your list for a reason, say I was promoting property investment, products, this is another way of marketing to them because obviously emails are only reasonably great over time so we can use supplement our marketing facebook Adds to sort of great strategy.
